This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the website and in the "Gülüş Akademisi" mobile app of Gülüş Akademisi Oral and Dental Health Clinic ("the Clinic"). Last updated: 7.10.2026.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They keep the site secure, keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

Required for the site to work; they cannot be switched off and do not require consent.

  • Session cookie (name ends with "-session"): carries your session and form data. Expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
  • XSRF-TOKEN: protects forms against forged requests. 2 hours.
  • remember_patient_…: keeps you signed in to the patient area; removed when you sign out. Up to 400 days.

Preference (functional) cookies

Remember your choices; they contain no personal data.

  • ga_view: your desktop or mobile view preference. 30 days.
  • ga_theme: your light / dark appearance preference. 1 year.
  • ga_app: indicates the site was opened inside the mobile app. 1 year.
  • ga_guest: remembers that you chose to continue without an account in the app. 400 days.
  • ga_install_dismissed: remembers that you closed the app download banner. 30 days.
  • ga_visitor: a random, anonymous ID so that a liked article is not counted twice. 2 years.

Analytics cookies

If Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager is enabled by the site administrator, Google's "_ga" and "_ga_…" cookies are used to measure visits (up to 2 years). This data is used only as aggregate statistics, never for advertising or personal targeting.

Third-party content

YouTube videos are loaded with the privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) and only when you start a video; Vimeo videos also load only when played. In that case the provider's own cookie policy applies. Social media links are plain links and set no cookies unless you click them.

Other data stored in your browser

Brushing statistics and some appearance preferences in the mobile app are kept only on your device (local storage) and are not sent to the Clinic.

Managing cookies

You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, features such as patient login or the appointment form may not work. See your browser's help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) for details.
